LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Canisius goalie Allison Daley made a career-high 20 saves and stifled the surging Siena women's lacrosse team who entered with back-to-back league wins. Siena kept it tight and trailed by three goals with 7 ½ minutes remaining. But Canisius scored three goals in a two-minute span and pulled away from the Saints, winning 11-7 Friday afternoon in Loudonville.

The Saints (6-7, 2-2) are now in a dogfight to make the four-team MAAC Tournament with just two games left. Siena can clinch a spot in the Tournament with a win at Niagara on Sunday paired with one loss by Iona.

Canisius (7-7, 2-1) grabbed control of the game in the first half when it scored four goals in less than two minutes to take a 5-2 lead. Four different players scored during that run.

Siena goalie Kristin Concordia went punch for punch with Daley, posting 13 saves and keeping it close throughout. Four of her saves came on free-position shots.

Siena weathered a storm after Canisus took an 8-4 lead midway through the second half when Concordia made three saves and another shot hit the post. A few minutes later, Allie Primo scored to cut it back to three goals.

Canisius created some breathing room with three late goals.

Allie Kain led Siena with three goals. The team's leading scorer and the reigning MAAC Offensive Player of the Week, Caitlin Mikel, was shadowed the entire game and mustered only four shots. All four were saved by Daley.

The Saints return to action on Sunday when they play Niagara on the road. Game time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
