Niagara Knocks Out Women's Tennis

Siena women's tennis was eliminated from the MAAC Tournament by Niagara, 4-3, Friday afternoon at the National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. The No. 4 seeded Saints lost four of the six singles matches to the No. 5 seeded Purple Eagles. Nicole Ross won both her singles and doubles matches.

Ross defeated Emma Cunnington 6-2, 6-2 at number four singles and Elora Benfer defeated Julia Gray 6-1, 7-6 (10-2) at number six singles.

Siena won its third point by taking two of three doubles matches. Ross and Jasleen Sandhu teamed up to defeat Hilary Hansen and Alyssa Lucas 8-4. Jessica Asselin and Brittany Filip defeated Cunnington and Julia Gray 8-4.

The Saints finish the season with a 6-9 overall record.
