Box Score
For a second straight game Siena Field Hockey managed just two shots on goal and less than two short corners and thus suffered the same result as they were shutout at Colgate, 5-0 Tuesday night. The Saints have now been shutout in each of their last three defeats.
Despite being out-shot 14-1 in the first half, Beth Meyers kept the Saints (1-5) alive making six saves. But Colgate (2-5) reeled off three goals in a matter of five minutes which proved to be more than enough.
Four days after mustering just two shots and no corners in a loss at Fairfield, the Saints offensive struggles continued as they once again tallied just two shots and attempted only one corner. Lisa Heimerle and Olivia Whelly accounted for both shots.
Four different players scored for the Raiders, led by Lauren Denenga's two goals. Kirsten Lalli made two saves to earn the shutout and Kendall Zaharris added three assists for Colgate which snapped a three-game losing streak.
Alison Baillargeon played the second half in goal for the Saints and made three saves. Additionally, Rachelle Grover and Kyla Dickson posted defensive saves as Colgate fired 11 shots on goal.
The Saints look to rebound Sunday at Hofstra. Game time is 2 p.m.
