Final Stats
The Siena women's tennis team had little trouble with non-league foe Hartford Thursday in Connecticut, disposing of the Hawks with a clean sweep to record their second victory in as many matches this season.
"We stuck to our game plan and came out of the blocks running," head Coach Andy Christodolou said. "When it got tough, the girls got tougher. The girls are enjoying the process rather than worrying about the results and that helps their game individually and collectively"
The Saints won four of their six singles matches in straight sets with freshman phenom Carly Holloway rallying for 4-6, 6-4 and 6-1 win at No. 3 singles and sophomore Brittany Filip earning a 5-7, 6-2 and 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.
Jasleen Sandhu won 6-0 and 6-4 at first singles, Danielle Crill coasted to a 6-0 and 6-1 win at No. 2 singles, Nicole Ross won 6-3 and 6-2 at No. 4 singles and Elora Benfer shutout her opponent at No. 5 singles.
Siena also swept the doubles competition. The Saints look to keep their streak alive when they host Rider next Saturday.
