Saints Split on Day Two of Michigan Invitational

March 13, 2011

Siena water polo split their final two games of the Michigan Invitational Sunday. The Saints defeated Grove City 9-6 before falling to Maryland 12-5.

The Saints (4-7) saw a fantastic performance from senior Nicole Hagi against Grove City. The senior erupted for five goals as Siena built a 9-4 lead after three periods and cruised to victory. Melanie Boehrig scored two goals, while seniors Molly Chamberlain and Camille Norman also found the back of the net.

In the day's finale, though, Siena wasn't as fortunate, never leading against Maryland. The Saints did see Norman's third multi-goal outing of the tournament, bringing her total to 11 after three goals against the Terrapins. Hagi and Jackie Crosby also scored for Siena.

Next up for the Saints are three games in California. Their next contest is on Thursday against Indiana in a neutral-site game.
