Siena water polo earned a MAAC split Saturday, defeating Wagner 11-9 but falling to Marist 15-12. It's the first of two MAAC doubleheaders for the Saints this weekend, who jump back into the pool tomorrow.
The Saints (9-12, 3-3 MAAC) saw themselves down 4-0 to the Seahawks in the day's first game, just six days after falling to them at the Siena Swim Center. However, Siena used four goals from Katie Ness and 17 saves from Stephani Pouder to claw their way back and eventually come out on top.
The afternoon, though, featured the Red Foxes turning the tables on Siena after the Saints pulled off the upset Sunday. Senior Nicole Hagi scored two goals, and classmate Camille Norman tallied two goals, three assists, and seven ejections drawn, but their efforts were not enough to make it two in a row over Marist.
Siena returns to action Sunday with games against Villanova and St. Francis.
