POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Siena looks for its first win over Marist in eight years and a chance to potentially move as high as third place in the MAAC Standings when the Saints battle the Red Foxes this afternoon at the McCann Arena. Gameday Central coverage begins right here at SienaSaints.com at 2 p.m.

Three short weeks ago, Siena (8-14, 6-7) was just 4-12 overall and in the basement of the MAAC Standings. But the resurgent Saints have since won four of six, positioning themselves nicely for a late season run.

In what has been a topsy turvy conference landscape, the Saints enter today in a three-way tie for sixth with Canisius and Niagara for the all-important final first round bye in the MAAC Tournament. However, just a single game separates the current No. 3 seed Loyola and the No. 8 seed Purple Eagles in the MAAC Standings.

With a win and some good fortune today, Siena could wake up tomorrow morning and find themselves in third place in the MAAC. But it won't be easy.

Despite losing key players to graduation, injuries and transfer, Marist (17-7, 12-1) hasn't needed to rebuild, they simply have just reloaded. An almost completely new cast of characters has the six-time defending MAAC Champions back in their familiar perch atop the conference standings following a key win over Fairfield Friday night.

Marist, like it has against most MAAC foes, has dominated the series of late against the Saints winning the past 16 meetings. The Red Foxes gutted out a 56-45 victory in Loudonville two Sundays ago against Siena.

The Saints have not won against Marist since Dec. 3, 2004, although that game came right here in Poughkeepsie as Siena rallied late to force overtime and ultimately win, 56-50.

Mike Demos and Steve Amedio have the call beginning with pregame coverage on WVCR 88.3 FM "The Saint" at 1:30 p.m. Fans can also tune into the free audio broadcast online at SienaAllAccess.com and watch the game through Marist's multimedia platform.

Fans can also join the live blog at 1:45 p.m., follow along with the live stats, receive in-game twitter updates @SienaSaints and learn more about both teams by reading the game notes all by visiting the Gameday Central page.
