Saints Go Winless at Claremont Convergence

March 10, 2012

Siena completed play at the Claremont Convergence Saturday, but lost their final two games of the weekend. The Saints fell 10-5 to Cal Lutheran before dropping a 14-8 decision to Pomona-Pitzer.

Siena (3-10) got all of its offense in the day's first game from two players. Freshman Jacquelyn Verdon posted a hat trick, while sophomore Melanie Boehrig added two goals. Defensively, senior Katie Ness tallied three steals in the losing effort.

The nightcap saw another hat trick from a freshman, as Stephanie Bundas scored three times, including twice in the fourth period to close the gap to 11-8. However, Pomona-Pitzer slammed the door with the game's final three scores. Ness added two goals, while Traci Robertson added three assists and four ejections drawn.

Siena returns to the pool on Monday, taking on Redlands at 8 p.m.
