Water Polo Drops First Game at Michigan Invitational

March 17, 2012

Siena water polo began play at the Michigan Invitational Saturday night, but got off to a rough start. The Saints dropped their seventh straight decision, falling 14-4 to the host Wolverines in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Sophomores Lea Allen and Melanie Boehrig scored two goals apiece, but that was the extent of the Siena (3-13) offense. Michigan scored the game's first five goals, and led 9-2 at the half. In net for Siena, Madeline Hurley and Stephani Pouder combined for 10 saves.

Siena finishes their spring break travels with two games tomorrow. The Saints will face Gannon and Notre Dame (Ohio).
