Final Stats
The Siena women's tennis team bounced back from a league loss Friday to post a convincing 5-2 triumph at Manhattan Tuesday. The Saints won four of six singles matches, and two of three doubles competitions to claim victory.
"The ladies played tough and smart," head coach Andy Christodoulou said. "It's a great sign to see how hard we fight for every ball, point and game."
Carly Holloway, Brittany Filip, Jessica Macaluso and Elora Benfer all won their singles matches. Macaluso coasted to a 6-0 and 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles, continuing her dominant play this spring. She then teamed with classmate Cassandra Braz for an important 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles.
Holloway had a strong effort at No. 2 singles, coasting to a 6-1 and 6-1 win over Hilary Valenzuela.
The Saints return to action next Tuesday when they host archrival Marist at Central Park at 3 p.m.
