LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena Women's Soccer has found its stride. Following four straight losses to start the season, the surging Saints won their third straight Wednesday afternoon, earning a 1-0 triumph at Vermont.

Junior striker Taylor D'Alfonso notched the decisive tally, collecting her first collegiate goal in the 81st minute. Senior captain Lisa Valenziano send a long thru pass down the field to D'Alfonso who beat the keeper 1-on-1.

It was a rewarding goal for D'Alfonso who had knocked on the door all game long. She accounted for nine of the Saints' (3-4) total targets including six of the team's seven shots on goal.

Meanwhile the Saints' other Taylor - Taylor Booth - did the rest. The sophomore keeper posted a career-high nine saves in earning her second collegiate shutout, both of which have come in the past four days. During the Saints' three-game winning streak Booth has been nearly impenetrable, recording 19 saves while allowing just one goal.

Vermont (1-8) held a 17-13 edge overall in shots while Siena harbored a 6-5 advantage in corners in defeating the Catamounts for the sixth straight season.

Siena will look to even its record Friday when the Saints welcome Temple to Siena Field for a 4 p.m. kick.
