LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Five student athletes from the Siena Water Polo team have been named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo (ACWPC) All-Academic Team. Rising junior Kori Swieter headlined the honorees by receiving the highest honor of "outstanding" distinction for accruing a GPA of 3.71 or higher.
An Environmental Science major from East Grand Rapids, Mich., Swieter currently possesses a 3.8 cumulative GPA.
Recent graduate Rebecca Robinson '13 (3.65 - English Education), rising junior Madeline Hurley (3.44 - Marketing) and rising sophomore Brianna Ritota (3.52 - Biology) earned "superior" status for posting cumulative GPAs between 3.41 and 3.70.
Rising junior Stephanie Bundas (3.38 - Health Education) also received "excellent" recognition, reserved for student athletes who post between a 3.20 and 3.40 GPA.
Additionally the team as a whole posted a 3.05 GPA at the time of nomination, ranking the Saints as one of just 31 programs across the Division I, II and III levels of the ACWPC membership to achieve a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or better. Through the spring semester, the Saints' cumulative team GPA skyrocketed to 3.20.
