Vermont opened the game with eight straight goals in the first 10:26 to defeat Siena Women's Lacrosse 18-4 in Burlington. Freshman Cara McQuillan scored her first two collegiate goals for the Saints.

Vermont (3-0) out-shot the Saints (0-2) 38-17 and forced 19 Siena turnovers in winning for the 15th time in 16 all-time meetings between the programs.

The younger sister of Siena's second all-time leading scorer Deirdre McQuillan '12, McQuillan added two groundballs and caused a turnover. Sophomores Sarah Croutier and Lauren Smith accounted for the other two Siena goals.

Jessica Roach tallied eight points, scoring five goals for Vermont and Sydney Mas added four goals and five draw controls for the Catamounts which led by double digits for the final 36 minutes.

All three goalies saw action for the Saints, with freshman Samantha DePasquale making the start and posting eight saves in a team-high 27:52 between the pipes.

The Saints host Wagner Saturday at noon at Siena Turf Field.
