Second Half Surge Sends CCSU Past Women's Lacrosse

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Central Connecticut went on a seven-goal run covering most of the second half to rally past Siena Women's Lacrosse 12-10 at Siena Turf Field. Sophomore attack Sarah Croutier led the Saints with four points on a pair of goals and assists.

Siena (1-3) scored six times in the first 13 minutes including three straight goals to take an early 6-3 lead. The Saints led 8-5 at the half and by as many as four goals moments into the second half.

But Central Connecticut (2-2) would hold Siena scoreless over the next 27 minutes as they scored seven unanswered goals to rally for the win.

Freshman attack Cara McQuillan scored two goals for the Saints and junior attack Erin Mossop and sophomore midfielder Lauren Smith each added a goal and two assists apiece. Freshman goalie Samantha DePasquale made 12 saves.

Falynn McCartney led all scorers with four goals and an assist for the Blue Devils, while Brigit Hogan, Elyse Malecki and Amanda Toke each contributed two goals.

The Saints head across the country to the Golden State for a pair of games next week in California. Siena plays at UC Davis Monday night at 7 p.m. local time (10 p.m. EST).
