The Colgate Raiders scored 7 first half goals en route to a 12-6 defeat of Siena Women's Lacrosse, Saturday, in Hamilton, N.Y. Erin Mossop lead the charge for the Saints netting a hat trick.
Colgate would score the first six goals of the game gaining a 6-0 lead on a Lauren Gorajek goal with 8:48 remaining in the first half. Kate Callahan got the Saints on the board with 4:25 remaining in the first scoring on an assist from Lauren Smith. Colgate closed the first half scoring on a goal by Kallan Murray 24 seconds later, and took a 7-1 lead into halftime.
The Raiders scored the first two goals of the second half, before the Saints netted back-to-back goals by Mossop and McQuillan cutting the lead to 9-3. The Saints would not get any closer, however, as the teams would alternate the remaining six goals to finish the game.
Mossop completed her hat trick scoring with 1:51 remaining, and Lauren Smith finished off the scoring, finding the back of the net at the 1:03 mark. Danielle DeLisio and Ashley Holdridge combined for nine saves in goal for the Saints, each playing one half.
The Saints will look to pick up their first victory in their first true home game, Wednesday, as they take on Vermont at 3 p.m. at Siena Turf Field.
