Feb. 26, 2015 Box Score
The Siena Water Polo team began their West Coast Spring Break trip Wednesday, losing to Whittier 13-8. Senior Stephanie Bundas scored seven of the Saints' eight goals in the contest.
Bundas opened up the scoring just 25 seconds into the game to get Siena on the board first. The Poets would score five of the next six goals to help them build a 5-2 lead before Madison Obata brought the Saints to within two with a minute remaining in the quarter.
The Saints would struggle with their offense in the second and third periods, scoring one goal in each frame, as Whittier would open a 12-5 lead. After a Whittier score to open the fourth quarter, Bundas would rattle off three goals in the final 5:36, but it would be too little to late, as the Saints would lose 13-8.
Eight different Poets scored in the game, while Madeline Hurley and Carly Jackson-Clark combined for 10 saves in net for the Saints. Siena continues their west coast swing Friday against Fresno Pacific at 8 a.m. PST, their first game in the Cal Lutheran Invite.
