The Siena volleyball team completed a solid performance in the Villanova Wildcat Classic Saturday, losing a hard-fought 3-0 (25-18, 25-23 and 25-20) decision to James Madison before sweeping Hartford (25-18, 26-24 and 25-20). Briana Flagg had 16 kills in the victory over the Bison.

The Dukes (7-2) had 10 aces and got 20 digs from Taylor Austin to get by Siena in straight sets.
Shantraie Rodriguez led the Saints with a career-high 11 kills. Rodriguez had just one error in 17 attacks.
James Madison controlled the action in the first set in a 25-18 win, but Siena responded in the second, tying the set at 23-23 on a kill by Samantha Pethokoukis. The Dukes won the next two points to take control of the match. JMU jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the decisive third set, and held that margin throughout in a 25-20 victory.
Pethokoukis joined Flagg with seven kills for Siena. Kalehua Katagiri added 16 digs.
Bryn Recker posted a match-high 14 kills for the Dukes, Janey Goodman wasn't far behind with 12.

Flagg played her best match of the weekend, dominating the action on the outside, and setter Haley Howell spread the ball around well on her way to 37 assists to help Siena get back in the win column.
Sonja Vasovic enjoyed her top performance of the year with 13 kills in 32 swings on the right side, and Katagiri tied for a match-high with 15 digs.
Siena's back row was stout. Junior Bobbi Lin Kalama tallied 14 digs, Howell had nine and Erin Bies added eight.
Khaila Donaldson finished with 12 kills for Howard.
Siena hit .242 for the match and controlled the action at the net with a 10-4 advantage in blocks.
The Saints rolled to a comfortable 25-18 win in the first set, held on for a 26-24 win in the second, and fought off a Howard charge in the middle of the third to post a 25-20 win to seal the match.
Siena opens its home and MAAC season Saturday at 1 p.m. in the new-look Alumni Recreation Center against Iona. The Saints will begin their MAAC title defense and take aim at their 10th conference championship this season.
