Siena water polo won their second game of the 2016 campaign Thursday night after the Saints defeated Connecticut College by a final of 10-4 in New London, Conn. Clare Bryar led the way for Siena, recording four goals, three assists and two steals.
The Saints shut out the Camels in the first quarter behind goals by Fiona Dretzka and Taylor Young. Siena then limited the Connecticut College offense to no more than two goals per quarter the rest of the way.
The Saints outscored the Camels in the first half by a margin 5-2 behind two goals by Terez Touhey. Dretzka, Young, and Madison Obata tallied goals in the first half.
Bryar fueled the Siena offense in the second half, scoring four goals, including three in the third quarter.
On the defensive side, Carly Jackson-Clark registered two saves in goal. Sarah Abbott made one save and had one assist. Daniella Fuertes notched three steals to lead Siena in the category.
The Saints open MAAC play next Saturday with road contests against Wagner and St. Francis Brooklyn at noon and 4 p.m. respectively.
