April 11, 2016 A day after recording their first conference victory, Siena Water Polo dropped a pair of MAAC games on Sunday. The Saints fell to VMI by a final of 14-8 and then lost the nightcap to Wagner, 17-5. Samantha Voelker led Siena with three goals in game one while Clare Bryar and Voelker each tallied two goals in the nightcap.
In game one, the Saints' goals came from Fiona Dretzka, Taylor Young, Voelker and Daniella Fuertes and Terez Touhey. Bryar led the way with four assists while Dretzka and Touhey tallied two steals apiece on the defensive side of the pool.
Carly Jackson-Clark made seven saves in goal for Siena in game one. Sarah Abbott made five saves.
Bryar and Voelker paced the Siena offense in game two with two goals each. Dretzka added the final score for the Saints. Taylor Young had two assists in the Wagner game while five different players recorded steals for Siena.
Jackson-Clark added five goals while Abbott made four saves.
The Saints will travel to Staten Island April 16th for their regular season finale games against Marist and Villanova at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively.
