April 3, 2016 The Siena water polo team fell by a final of 18-8 to Iona and then was topped by VMI 17-11. The Saints fell to 0-4 in MAAC play with the two losses.
In game one against Iona, Sam Voelker and Clare Bryar scored two goals apiece to pace the Siena offense. Nichol Feldtz, Fiona Dretzka and Terez Touhey also recorded tallies for the Saints. Dretzka and Touhey had two assists in the first game.
Sarah Abbott and Carly Jackson-Clark each tallied eight saves in goal as the Saints fell by six in the first game of the day.
In game two, Bryar paced the Siena offense with five goals. Five different players tallied goals in the game for the Saints. In the assist column, Taylor Young made four while Bryar made three.
In goal, Abbott made ten saves while Jackson-Clark made seven.
The Saints return to the pool Sunday when they continue MAAC play against Villanova and Marist at 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
