LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Siena Water Polo Head Coach Ellen Howe announced the new members of the 2017 team. Three players will make up the Class of 2020.

Three-time All-Conference and All-Sectional honoree at Saint Ignatius College Prep, Diana Fernandez comes to Siena from Chicago, Illinois. Fernandez has played water polo for the Chicago Park District for 10 years and has been swimming for the district since age three. Fernandez was a center attacker on her club and high school teams. She was nominated for Illinois Player of the Year her senior season in addition to multiple seasons on All-State First Team.

Los Osos High School graduate Kayla Engleman joins Siena from Alta Loma, California. Engleman has been playing water polo for six years and was named Team MVP her freshman season at Los Osos. She was a member of CHAMP Water Polo Club for five years and is a three-time Junior Olympic Qualifier. Engleman also played soccer for the past 10 years.

Siena Swim team member Rachel Brown will also compete for water polo. A Brookfield High School record holder in three different events, Brown comes to Siena by way of Connecticut. She qualified for the Connecticut M Championship all four years and was a two-time 100 freestyle champion as well as being the 2014 200 freestyle champion.

Coach Howe said, "We are really excited about Diana, Kayla, and Rachel. They will add energy and depth to our roster and help us get better right away."

The three additions join a water polo program that returns 52 percent of its scoring from last season.
