Marisa Romeo scored four goals to propel Harvard to a 20-6 victory over Siena Women's Lacrosse. Harvard has 13 goal scorers in the win over the Saints.
Romeo led all scorers with four goals and one assists for five points for Harvard (3-1). Crimson had 12 other goal scorers in the victory over Siena.
Briana Sirianni led Siena (1-4) with two goals, one assist and four draw controls. Freshman Julia Sardella recorded two goals in the contest.
Sirianni started off quickly with a free position shot to take a 1-0 lead. Harvard tied it up before Sirianni came off the draw control and added another one on the cage. The Crimson scored five unanswered goals before freshman Sardella added one for the Saints. Cara McQuillan scored on a free position shot to cut the deficit 7-4. Harvard led 12-4 at the half.
The Crimson scored six of the first 10 goals in the second quarter for a 18-4 lead. Michelle Schwartz and Sardella scored back to back goals for the Saints as Siena trailed 18-6. Harvard added two more goals to take the win 20-6.
Sammy Horton recorded 16 saves for Siena. Michelle Schwartz recorded one goal and dished out two assists for the Saints.
Siena returns to the Capital District to host UMass-Lowell on Wednesday, Mar. 15. First draw is set for 4 p.m.
