March 4, 2017 Siena Men's Track program competed in the first day of the ECAC/IC4A Championship in the Distance Medley Relay. The men grabbed 19th place in the event.
"I'm really happy with the men's performance today," said head coach John Kenworthy. "We took a huge chunk off our school record and ran right in the pack of a really competitive heat. Travis, Evans and Paolo ran the fastest splits in school history for their legs. It was a great note to end the indoor season on. This spells very good things for April and May."
The men broke the school record with a 10:05.73 time in the relay. Travis Fairlee (3:04.7), Matt Jacques (54.4), Evans Kibet (1:52.8) and Paolo Fiore (4:13.8) ran the relay to push the Saints to a new school record.
Sophomore Sarah Forman will compete in the ECAC Championship on Sunday, Mar. 5 when she toes the line of the 3000m event at 1:40 p.m.
