Siena Water Polo swept its two MAAC contests on Sunday in Lexington, Virginia. In the first game, the Saints defeated the Explorers 14-5. In the final game of the weekend, Siena posted just the third shutout in program history, blanking the Terriers 2-0. Carly Jackson-Clark totaled 31 saves in the two contests for the Saints.

Game One: Siena 14, LaSalle 5

In the first meeting between the two programs, the Saints (4-20, 4-5) dominated LaSalle (1-11, 0-9) 14-5. Junior Clare Bryar led the way for Siena offensively, scoring six goals and adding two assists. Diana Fernandez and Terez Touhey each recorded hat tricks, scoring three goals each. Sarah Abbott added three assists. Fernandez and Bryar drew three ejections each in the game.

Carly Jackson-Clark saved 10 shots in the game, allowing just three goals and adding one steal and one assist. Kennedy Joseph also saw time in goal, allowing two goals and making five saves. Fernandez and Bryar had three steals each for Siena.

Game Two: Siena 2, St. Francis Brooklyn 0

To close out the day, the Saints blanked the Terriers (2-16, 1-6) 2-0, marking the lowest combined score in program history and the first shutout since 2008. Senior goalie Jackson-Clark was phenomenal in net, saving 21 shots and keeping the Terriers off the board for all 32 minutes of action.

In the defensive battle, Diana Fernandez and Clare Bryar each scored one goal for Siena. Bryar netted hers in the first quarter before Fernandez added an insurance goal in the fourth. Abbott and Daniella Fuertes recorded one assist each in the win.

The Saints improved to 4-5 in the MAAC with the season-sweep of St. Francis Brooklyn. Siena will play five more conference games this regular season, including one more against LaSalle. The Saints have won four of their last six games, all conference contests.

Siena returns to the pool on Wednesday, April 5 in Poughkeepsie, New York against the Marist Red Foxes.
