LOUDONVILLE - Siena Women's Basketball junior
Maddie Sims was named MAAC Player of the Week for her performance against UMass on Sunday afternoon. The Mount Laurel, NJ native becomes the first Saint to earn the honor this season.
Sims was superb in Siena's 64-59 victory over the UMass Minutewomen at The ARC on Sunday afternoon. Sims notched her third double-double of the season as she nearly set career-highs in both points and rebounds, putting up 23 points and 11 boards. In addition, Sims also led the Green and Gold with three assists, two blocks, and two steals which were all team highs.Â
Currently, Sims ranks top five in the MAAC in multiple categories. She ranks second in rebounds per game (7.6), third in blocks per game (1.4), third in field goal percentage (44.9), and fifth in minutes per game (34.6).
The Saints return to the floor on Fri, Dec. 21 when they play host to the Hofstra Pride in their final game before the new year. Tip-off for the matchup is slated for 7 p.m.
