Siena Water Polo dropped their final league game of the MAAC Weekend with an 11-4 loss to VMI. The Saints went 1-2 in league play this weekend.
Four separate Saints scored in the game with one goal coming from Anna Borton, Clare Bryar, Kristen Burger and Sophia Torres. Bryar led Siena with three steals, while Fernandez drew two ejections. Nichol Feldtz stopped nine shots.
VMI started the scoring with a powerplay goal, the first of four powerplay goals for the Keydets. After leading 2-0, Siena scored a powerplay goal from Burger. The Keydets scored once more with three seconds on the clock to lead 3-1 after one quarter played.
Following three VMI goals to lead 6-1, Torres put one in the cage with a pass from Fernandez to trail the Keydets 6-2 at the half.
Borton opened up the third quarter scoring with a pass from Bryar to trail just 6-3. VMI tallied three goals, including one power-play goal with 31 seconds in the frame to lead 9-3. In the final quarter, VMI scored twice, one on a power play. After dishing out two assists, Bryar scored a goal of her own, but the Keydets would take the victory 11-4.
Siena will host Connecticut College and Utica College on Friday, March 30 at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., respectively.
