Sarah Forman collected her third MAAC championship in three years, as her finish headlined a solid final day at the 2019 Indoor Track & Field Championship at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center in New York City. The Green and Gold would see the men finish fifth, which would be their highest point total in program history in the event. The women's side would finish seventh.
Forman topped the women's 3000m run with a time of 9:48.72, snagging 10 points for the Saints. It would be her second title in the event, which she snagged two years ago. Her other came in the outdoor 1500m later that year.
Sydney Johnson and
Carolyn Pellegrini also finished strong in the 3000m, finishing ninth and 12
th, repectively, with times of 10:11.17 and 10:16.61.
Camryn Johnson would score in the women's 5000m run, finishing seventh with a time of 17:31.69. To top off their day, the Saints 4x800m relay team would break a school record, putting up a time of 9:39.62.
For the men, both
Evans Kibet and
Luciano Fiore took home silver in events. Fiore would take second in the final after finishing third in the prelims. He would put up a time of 1:52.91, snagging eight points for the Saints. In the mile, Kibet improved his finish among is qualifying prelim by four spots, finishing with a time of 4:11.76.
William Randall and
Stosh Davis finished sixth and eighth in the men's 3K, and finishing fifth and sixth in the men's 5K. Lastly, the men's 4x800 relay team took home a third place finish, and like the women's relay team, also broke a school record in the event.
The Saints return with limited athletes participating in the ECAC/IC4A Indoor Championships starting on March 1. The event will be hosted by Boston University, a venue the Saints have already seen twice this season.
