Here's Ten Things to Know About Tonight's Game
.) Siena (11-12, 6-4) enters play having won five of its past six games The Saints last won six games during a seven-game stretch from Jan. 7 - Jan. 30, 2016.
.) Siena continues a stretch where it plays four of five away from home. The Saints have won six games away from home this season, including five true road victories. A victory tonight would match the program's most true road wins (2015-16, 2013-14) since winning nine road games in 2009-10.
.) The Saints have been propelled by a vastly improved defense the past 12 games, allowing an average of just 57.8 points. Siena has held 12 straight opponents to 70 points or less, marking the program's longest stretch since a 17-game streak from Dec. 8, 1992 – Feb. 10, 1993.
.) Siena boasts two of the MAAC's top-three freshmen scorers in Jalen Pickett and Sloan Seymour (9.0). Seymour ranks second in the MAAC with 65 made threes, and is closing in on Scott Knapp's Siena freshman record of 76 in 1997-98.
.) Siena possesses three of the top-10 players in the MAAC in three-point makes. Seymour ranks second with his 65 makes, while Pickett is eighth (47), and Kevin Degnan stands ninth (46). The Saints rank second in the MAAC and 62nd nationally averaging 9.0 made threes per game.
.) Pickett ranks amongst the national leaders in assists (6.3 - 14th), steals (2.0 - 46th), and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.39 - 56th).
.) Siena is looking to build off a 61-50 win over Fairfield Monday night. The Saints ended the game on a 14-3 run over the final 8:41.
.) Siena and Manhattan (7-16, 5-6) meet for the milestone 100th time tonight, with the Jaspers leading the all-time series 54-45. The home team has won 16 of the past 19 meetings between the programs, as Manhattan has won seven of the last eight matchups in Riverdale.
.) Siena captured the first meeting between the teams 53-40 two weeks ago in Albany. The 40 points allowed by Siena was tied for the program's second fewest during the Division I era (1976-77), and tied for the fewest allowed in 22 years overall.
.) Manhattan is playing its best basketball of the season, riding a three-game winning streak to open their four-game homestand. Tonight's game pits the MAAC's top two defensive teams, as the Jaspers lead the league in scoring defense (63.3) while Siena ranks second (65.4).
