Bari Promoted to Assistant Athletic Director For Compliance

Bari Has Served as Department’s Compliance Coordinator For Past Three Years

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Siena College Vice President and Director of Athletics John D'Argenio has announced the promotion of Steven Bari to the position of assistant athletic director for compliance. Bari has served as the athletic department's compliance coordinator for the past three years.

"This is a clear indication of the value we have on Steven's work, and the importance that the College places on supporting an active compliance program," said D'Argenio.

Bari joined the Siena Athletics family in 2016, and has administered the day-to-day operations of the department's compliance program ever since. He has monitored all NCAA, MAAC, and Siena College rules as they apply to the school's 300-plus student athletes, 21 teams and coaches.

Since his appointment, Bari has also served on the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's volleyball sport committee since June 2017, and was named to Siena College's President's Advisory Council on Diversity and Inclusion during the Fall of 2018. Bari has also worked as a gameday administrator at Siena Athletics sporting events, as well as past MAAC Basketball Championships and the 2018 and upcoming 2019 NCAA Women's Basketball Albany Regional.

Prior to matriculating to Siena, Bari was a graduate assistant for two years in Manhattan College's compliance office. He assisted the department's compliance officer in monitoring the rules education program, and both generated and processed National Letters of Intent and financial aid agreements for prospective student athletes.

Bari began his collegiate athletics career as a compliance intern at his alma mater, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He assisted in the monitoring of both CARA and practice logs, as well as the development and implementation of the department's rules interpretations with student athletes, coaches, and staff.

Bari earned his Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Manhattan in 2016. He previously received his Bachelor's in Political Science from UL Lafayette in 2013, and his Associate's in General Studies from Louisiana State University Eunice in 2010.
