The Siena Saints were on full display covering almost 500 miles of the country on Saturday afternoon. Most of the squad headed across town to the UAlbany Spring Classic, while three Saints competed in the Virginia Classic hosted by the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Leading the way in Charlottesville was senior
Sarah Forman, who competed in the women's 1500m run, putting up a time of 4:29.06. That would give Forman a win out of Heat #3, and a 20
th overall finish in the field. In the men's 800, both
Evans Kibet and
Luciano Fiore came out with similar times. Kibet just finished ahead of Fiore with a time of 1:52.50 for 20
th place, while Fiore scored a 1:52.67 for a 22
nd place finish.
At home in Albany,
Mary McNally collected the highest finish of a Saint on the day on the women's side with a time of 19:05.22 in the women's 5000m run.
Abbi Wright and
Megan Linendoll also finished strong in the event, putting up fifth and sixth place in the event as well. In the women's 1500m, sophomore
Morgan Serkes finished with a time of 4:49.03 for a fourth place finish. Classmate
Monica Strain would come in just under that with a time of 4:51.17, finishing fifth. In the women's 800m run, freshman
Julia Bryant put up a time of 2:25.11 for a sixth place finish, while in the women's 400m run, freshman Olivia Durant finished fifth with a time of 1:12.29.
On the men's side, senior
Jack O'Hara finished second in the men's 5000m run with a time of 16:14.18, and teammates
Jason Linendoll and
Cole DiGiacomo also getting top five finishes. In the men's 1500m, Matthew Jacques,
Michael Stoker, and
Aidan Canavan finished 3-4-5 with times of 4:08.16, 4:09.98, and 4:12.13. Lastly, in the men's 800m run, freshman
Ryan Holland finished fourth with a time of 1:59.10 to round out the Saints action on the day.
The Saints return to action next Saturday, April 27 when they head over to Troy, NY to compete in the RPI Upstate Classic.
