New records flew at the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton University Saturday evening, as the Siena Saints saw multiple personal records and one school record fall as they competed in the event.
Leading the way with the top performance was senior
Sarah Forman in the seeded women's 5000m, as she came back from 7th to finish 4th with a time of 16:58.50. That time would set a new personal record for Forman, as well as set a new school record in the event, as she became the first sub-17 time in the event in program history. Sydney &
Camryn Johnson each also finish strong in the women's seeded 5000m run, as both just missed out on PR's with times of 17:26.76 and 17:31.84.
Luciano Fiore stole the show in the men's 800m, as he burst from back in the pack in his heat to take home first place. His time of 1:51.66 set a new personal record in the event for him, and comes in as the second fastest time in the event in program history.
Evans Kibet also finished well, coming in fourth in the event with a time of 1:52.08, which ends up as the third best time ever in the event in program history. Kibet's time of 1:49.21 in the event at West Point last year.
Olivia Lomascolo led the way in the unseeded women's 5000m run, as she finished sixth with a time of 17:53.86, with
Carolyn Pellegrini also in the event for the Green and Gold finishing 19
th. For the men,
William Randall finished just outside the top 10 in the men's 3000m steeplechase, putting up a time of 9:28.57 and finishing 11
th in the event. Rounding out the day's action was senior
Jack O'Hara, who put up a time of 16:11.55 in the men's seeded 5000m run.
The Saints return to action Friday, April 12 when they head to Bucknell for the Bucknell Outdoor Classic. Only qualifiers will be participating, with the event lasting Friday through Sunday.
