Siena Men's Soccer saw its players honored as some of the top academic performers in the MAAC once again, as the conference released the 2020-21 MAAC Men's Soccer All-Academic Teams on Tuesday afternoon. The Saints saw 12 players honored, eclipsing double-digit honorees for the second straight year, after 13 student-athletes were named to the team in 2019.
To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at his/her institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. A total of 125 student athletes were placed on this year's Men's Soccer All-Academic Team.
One semester after posting the highest team grade point average of any men's program at Siena, Men's Soccer tied for the third-most honorees in the MAAC, with Saint Peter's leading the way at 19 selections. Twelve MAAC All-Academic Team members is the second-highest total in the program's 30-year tenure in the conference.
Redshirt junior Winston Bennett was named to the squad for the third time in his collegiate career, while juniors Greg Monroe and Jameson Weber earned their second All-Academic Team honors. Nine Saints were named to the team for the first time, including senior Jacob Pacheco, redshirt sophomore Antonio Linge, sophomores Luke Ferrari and Mark Sojer, and redshirt freshmen Chris Cossu, Niko Dimkopoulos, Luke Rossiter, Luca Santabarbara, and Edgar Tellez.
