Brooke Boermeester has been proclaimed the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. The Dracut, Massachusetts native previously earned the honor on Aug. 23 after posting a shutout in the Saints' season-opening victory over Binghamton.
Boermeester made six saves to record her second clean sheet this fall in Saturday night's key 1-0 road win at MAAC rival Marist. She made four of her six stops in the second half, allowing the Saints the opportunity to break through late to secure their third consecutive victory. Boermeester has posted a 4-2-1 record in seven starts between the pipes so far this fall, while registering a 1.25 goals against average and a .809 save percentage.
Boermeester and the Saints return to action Wednesday when they host Niagara at 3 p.m. at Hickey Field to kick off a season long three-match homestand.
