LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Siena Women's Basketball is back in the UHY Center on Monday evening as they open their conference portion of their schedule in a matchup with the Rider Broncs at 7 p.m. The Saints defeated the Broncs twice in the UHY Center last season.
Tickets can be purchased at sienasaints.com/tickets or at the UHY Center. Tickets for adults range from $8 to $25, with senior citizens having an $8 ticket price. Children's tickets are $5 for entry. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time through the corresponding links or on game day at the UHY Center ticket window.
The Siena College Athletic Department has announced the following spectator policy for all fans planning to attend Siena Women's Basketball home games held on campus at the UHY Center this season. All spectators aged 12 and older must be fully vaccinated to be able to attend, and be able to show proof of vaccination and identification upon entry. Full vaccination status is defined as having completed the COVID-19 vaccination series at least 14 days prior to the date of the game. Proof of full vaccination can be presented through paper form, digital application, or the State's Excelsior Pass upon entering the UHY Center. Proof of Identification can include: Driver's License, Siena College ID, or Passport. Masks are strongly recommended for fully vaccinated individuals, and mandatory for unvaccinated children under the age of 12. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult, and children ages 2-11 will need to wear a mask, except when actively eating or drinking. This policy is guided by the alert level established by Siena College's COVID-19 Operations Team and is subject to change based on current conditions.
The Saints (0-8) return to the court after eight days off, falling last Sunday to UAlbany in their previous game. The Saints were within six points with 4:30 left to play in the third, but could not get any closer as they were defeated by the Great Danes by a final score of 64-44 in the 23rd matchup for the Albany Cup. Amari Anthony led all scorers with 12 points while also leading the Green and Gold with six rebounds and two assists. Fifth-year
Rayshel Brown added 10 points, while freshman
Anajah Brown also added six rebounds. Freshman
Imani Harris also added three steals.
The Broncs (2-8) lost their MAAC opener, 64-60, to Quinnipiac on Saturday. Jessika Schiffer set career-highs in points (22), assists (seven), and three-pointers (six). She scored 16 of her 22 in the second half as Rider led the preseason MAAC favorites with under two minutes to play. Raphaela Toussaint produced double-doubles in both Rider victories this season, earning MAAC Player of the Week honors on Dec. 6. In Rider's win over NJIT, she had 17 points and 10 boards. Against Army, the sophomore had 13 points, 11 rebounds, and a career-high four assists.
