LOUDONVILLE, NY – Graduate student
Isis Young has signed a professional contract with the Inexio Royals Saarlouis – a team in Germany's top women's basketball league – the DBBL.
"I'm extremely excited to sign my first contract to go overseas and play in Germany," said Young. "It's been a dream of mine ever since I can remember to play professional basketball. As I look back, I'm just so thankful for my journey – the relationships I've made along the way, the opportunities playing at different colleges, and all the experiences that shaped me into the person and player I am now. I'm truly humbled to be accomplishing one of my dreams!"
Despite only appearing in only 11 games this season, Young made the most of her time in Green and Gold. She led the MAAC in scoring, averaging 18.8 points per game. She scored more than 20 points on five occasions, including an outburst of 28 points with a career-high six three pointers at Monmouth on Feb. 3.
Averaging just under 35 percent from long distance, Young led the team in almost every offensive category – which includes minutes (34.7), field goals made (67), and assists (30). Her 18.8 points per game averaged almost two points more than Lou Lopez-Senechal (17.0) in second place. Young ranked Top 15 in the MAAC in minutes, three-point percentage, free throw percentage, and assists.
