SIMSBURY, CT – Siena Men's Golf saw success against a crowded field full of top regional talent to begin its Fall 2021 season. The Saints featured a top-5 individual finisher and tied for fifth as a team in their first-ever go-around at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate at Hope Meadow Country Club in Simsbury, Connecticut.
The Saints improved by one stroke in Sunday's 18-hole competition to finish at +9, 585 in a three-way tie for fifth with Hartford and MAAC competitor Fairfield. Boston College shot -4, 572 on the weekend to claim the team title, while conference counterparts Manhattan (ninth), and Monmouth (12
th) also competed. The Eagles' Mac Lee carded -5, 139 in the 36-hole event to take home individual medalist honors.
After becoming only the fifth golfer in program history to shoot a 67 or better in a single round and finishing the opening round in a tie for first place, junior
Matt Farrari shot a 75 the second time around to finish the tournament at -2, 142 in a tie for fourth place.

Brody Yates both showed considerable improvement in their second round efforts, with Crowley improving six strokes from a 77 to -1, 71, while Yates went from a 76 to even, 72. The pair tied for 32
nd individually at +4, 148, while junior
Jack Tobin followed in a split for 39
th at +5, 149. Freshman
Dan Brooks wrapped the team's five-man competition squad by finishing in a tie for 78
th place at +16, 160.
Following the completion of its first of five fall tournaments, Siena will be back in action next weekend for the Cornell Invitational on September 19-20 in Watchung, New Jersey.
