BOSTON, MA – Another meet, another school record broken for Siena Indoor Track this season. The latest competition date saw the Saints wrap weekend action at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational in Boston, Massachusetts with the second school record in three days being broken.
Continuing his historic junior season, Brandon Olden took down his third school record of the year, placing 14th overall in the 3000 meter race with a time of 8:00.15. The impressive run clobbered the previous school record of 8:19.23 set by program great Evans Kibet in 2019 inside the same facility. Olden now owns the program marks in the mile, 3000, and 5000, with all being set during the 2021-22 campaign.
Each of Siena's nine male competitors ran a personal best time in their event Sunday, with freshman Jackson Cayward clocking the fourth-fastest time in the 3000 at 8:23.80. Sophomore Killian McNamee's 3000 time of 8:29.03 was the seventh-fastest in program history, while classmate Ryan Shanahan's time of 8:32.98 was tenth.
The Green and Gold also posted solid times in the mile run, with junior Tommy Anderson running the program's third-fastest time ever at 4:12.73 to lead the way. Freshman Luke Tkaczyk came up with a mark of 4:17.74, while sophomore Tom Ragone clocked a mark of 4:19.11, and junior Matthew Laframboise ran a time of 4:19.97.
Siena will continue its indoor track season at the Pioneer Invitational in Utica, New York on Saturday, February 5.
