BRONX, NY – Following a weekend away from competition, Siena Cross Country sprinted back into its fall season at the annual ECAC/IC4A Cross Country Championships, which were moved up in the calendar to October for 2022. The Saints boasted three All-East / All-IC4A performances at the famed Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx, New York on Friday.
Women's Cross Country fifth year Olivia Lomascolo (21:10.0) took third place in the women's 6k, while senior Delia McDade Clay (21:40.1) finished 11th. The pair each took home All-East honors as part of the top-40 individual finishers, and joined senior Elaine Atanasova (79th, 22:49.2), freshman Chloe Poulos (98th, 23:01.2), and freshman Stephanie Queiroz (23:08.0) in breaking the previously program best mark for a women's 6k run at Van Cortlandt Park, which stood at 23:11. The performances allowed the women's team to finish 11th in a 34-team field which featured several regionally-ranked squads.
The men were once again led by 2021 IC4A Individual Champion Brandon Olden, who finished 17th in the men's 8k in this year's loaded field with a time of 24:34.8. Both Olden and senior Tommy Anderson (44th, 25:13.9) surpassed the previous program record of 25:19.7, with Olden garnering All-IC4A honors for finishing inside the individual top-40. The pair were joined by senior Aidan Gillooley (60th, 25:30.4), junior Ben Guerin (63rd, 25:32.5), and freshman Tyler Greene (25:33.6) in making of the top-five finishers on the men's side and allowing the Saints to take sixth place out of 31 competitors.
