The Siena Women's Basketball team faces their third game in five days on Monday evening as they prepare to take on the Manhattan Jaspers at 7 p.m. from Draddy Gymnasium.
Siena had their rematch with the first place Fairfield Stags on Saturday afternoon. After the Saints got the best of the Stags earlier this season, Fairfield won round two as they took a 64-58 victory at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Fairfield got a 21-point performance from Preseason MAAC Player of the Year Lou Lopez-Senechal, and snagged four rebounds. Both Callie Cavanaugh and Andrea Hernangomez scored 11 points apiece, while Rachel Hakes dished out 11 assists and snagged nine rebounds. The Stags outpaced the Saints in the paint 32-18.

Margo Peterson scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed five rebounds. Fifth year
Selena Philoxy added 11 points with seven rebounds, with graduate student
DeAnna Winston tossed out seven assists.
Siena and Manhattan meet for the 71
st time, with the Saints holding a 47-24 advantage in the series – including the Saints win earlier this season. Jabir is 3-2 all-time against the Jaspers, with all five games coming while as head coach of the Saints. Prior to their matchup this season, the last time he faced the Jaspers was his final game at the helm of the Saints in his first stint. The Green and Gold were defeated by Manhattan in the MAAC Semifinals by a final score of 60-45.
The last time the two teams met was earlier this season on Jan. 15 when the Saints took a 53-47 victory over the Jaspers with Siena Women's Basketball alumni.
Sophomore
Ahniysha Jackson was the top scorer for the Saints on the afternoon, as she put in a new career-high 11 points with three makes from long range. Fifth-year
Rayshel Brown scored in double-figures once again, finishing with 10 points. Both
Selena Philoxy and
Margo Peterson scored nine points apiece, with Philoxy adding a team-high 13 rebounds. Freshman
Imani Harris also chipped in with four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Manhattan was led by a 14-point effort from Jade Blagrove, as she would score 10 of her points from the free throw line. Courtney Warley fell one point shy of a double-double, scoring nine points with 15 rebounds. Dee Dee Davis would score 10 points, grab five rebounds, dish two assists, and add a steal.
Manhattan (14-9, 9-5) has won five of their last six games, including coming off a win at Rider on Thursday. The Jaspers have moved into third place in the MAAC, moving one game behind Quinnipiac and one game ahead of Monmouth and Niagara. Manhattan had a slow start before coming back and pulling away from Rider, 56-49, on Thursday night in Lawrenceville. Courtney Warley finished with a game-high 22 points and 13 rebounds. Dee Dee Davis had 14 points, nine rebounds, and two steals.
