Box Score 2 ERIE, PA – Siena Water Polo (1-4) began its second weekend of 2022 competition with a doubleheader split, which included the team's first win of the season and its first in non-conference competition in nearly two years. The Saints fell to Salem, 17-13, before defeating host school Mercyhurst, 20-10, to begin weekend competition at the Curtis Robinette Memorial Invite in Erie, Pennsylvania Saturday.

The Tigers jumped out to a 7-2 advantage over the Saints and did not trail throughout the opening contest, with the Saints coming within three goals near the game's conclusion with the score at 15-12. Senior attacker
Bianca Prinsloo led the team with five goals for her second hat trick of the season, while classmate
Georgia Vargas scored three times and junior
Lily Graham joined sophomore
Sydney Arnold with two goals apiece.

The Green and Gold returned to the pool later in the afternoon to rebound for their third straight win over the Lakers and their first in non-conference play since March 8, 2020. Siena notched the first five goals of the game, including four first quarter strikes from Prinsloo. The Saints also strung together five straight goals that bookended halftime, outscoring Mercyhurst in all four quarters.

Prinsloo scored seven times in the win and added an assist for eight total points, while junior
Grace Boeve found the back of the net five times. Vargas chipped in four goals and an assist, while Arnold totaled her first hat trick of the season. Sophomore
Caroline Behr played the entirety of the match in-between-the-pipes, recording six saves for her first collegiate victory.

Siena will close out weekend action at the Robinette Invite on Sunday, February 20, with matches set against Gannon at 11:30 AM and with Penn State Behrend at 3:15 PM.
