Box Score 2 POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Siena Water Polo (3-6) took a pair of close losses home in its third weekend of competition Saturday, competing at the Courtney Fisher Invitational in Poughkeepsie, New York. The Saints dropped a 13-12 decision to Villanova before falling, 17-13, to Salem.

Siena got off to a 4-2 lead after the first quarter and led, 7-4, at the half, but allowed the Wildcats to knot the match at nine after three quarters. Villanova would pull ahead with 2:33 remaining and did not allow the Saints to score again, solidifying their one-goal win.

Siena worked off the strength of seven goals from reigning MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
Bianca Prinsloo, while senior
Georgia Vargas added four goals and freshman
Emma Nosenchuck added one more. Junior
Grace Boeve (three) and
Lily Graham (two) each contributed assists, while junior
Sydney Jones had six steals and Prinsloo added three. Junior
Anna Mossakowski started in-goal for the Saints, making three assists.

Salem 17, Siena 13

The Green and Gold took the pool later in the afternoon against Salem for the second time this season. Vargas led the team offensively with five goals, while Graham and Jones each added a pair. Sophomore
Caroline Behr got the start in-between-the-pipes, marking seven saves and two steals.

Siena will continue non-conference play next weekend at the famed Claremont Convergence in Claremont, California, with matches scheduled against California Baptist, Azusa Pacific, Whittier, and Santa Clara.
