Box Score LOUDONVILLE, NY – Despite netting five of the final eight goals of the match, Siena Water Polo (3-12, 0-2) could not overcome an early burst from MAAC opponent St. Francis Brooklyn (5-9, 1-1) in its home opener. The Saints fell by a score of 14-10 to the Terriers Sunday at the Siena Swim Center.
After holding a close 5-3 lead after one quarter of action, the Terriers scored three of the next four goals heading into the half, and also netted three of four goals in the third period to pull away. Siena capitalized on two five-meter penalty opportunities and an exclusion to score five of eight goals in the fourth, but could not make off the deficit after having trailed by as many as six goals.

Anna Massakowski made the start in-goal, while sophomore
Caroline Behr came in midway through the second quarter and remained for the duration of the match. St. Francis' Sofia Kolovou led the Terriers offensively with four goals.
Siena will continue conference play in search of its first MAAC win of the year next weekend, with four matches scheduled. The Saints will head to Iona at 1 PM and #14 Wagner at 8 PM on Saturday, March 26 before returning home for a doubleheader on Sunday, March 27 against La Salle at 10:30 AM and Villanova at 4 PM.
