LOUDONVILLE, NY – Following one of the most remarkable pitching performances in program history last weekend, Siena Baseball senior pitcher
Ben Seiler has received national acclaim. The Albany, New York native has been proclaimed the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Dick Howser Trophy National Co-Pitcher of the Week presented by The Game Headwear for the period ending April 24.

The first player in Siena Baseball history to earn an NCBWA Dick Howser Trophy national weekly honor, Seiler shares National Co-Pitcher of the Week recognition with Grambling's Shemar Page. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I conference, and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season. Siena legend Dan Paolini was named one of 36 national semifinalists for the Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Year award in 2011.

Seiler set a 2022 NCAA single-game high with 19 strikeouts over nine innings in a no-decision Saturday at Niagara. He tallied his record 19
th strikeout on his 152
nd and final pitch to work out of a jam and prolong the game into extra innings. Seiler currently holds two of the three highest single-game strikeout totals nationally so far this season, following a 16-strikeout performance Mar. 27 vs. Saint Peter's.

Seiler has enjoyed a strong senior season thus far. He currently ranks third in the MAAC amongst qualifiers in ERA (3.74), fourth in strikeouts (68), and 10
th in opposing batting average (.262). Â
