Box Score SYRACUSE, NY – Siena Women's Soccer (0-3-1) fell victim to a strong offensive performance by its opponent to continue non-conference play in the 2022 season Sunday afternoon. The Saints dropped a 2-0 decision to ACC foe Syracuse (3-1) at SU Soccer Stadium in Syracuse, New York, dropping to 0-2 all-time against the Orange.
Siena's offense provided a handful of early scoring chances, with sophomore Cora Keohane pulling a breakaway opportunity just to the right in the seventh minute, and junior Annie Bagnall taking a header in the box too high in the ninth minute.
Syracuse got on the board by way of Anna Rupert in the ninth minute of action, and netted a second-half insurance goal in the form of a header from Paola Ellis in the 63rd minute. The Orange held a 34-8 shots advantage, while drawing 10 of 12 total corner kick opportunities.
Siena's eight shots came by way of five different Saints, with Keohane, Bagnall, and freshman Iona Snape each registering two apiece. Junior Angela Fini made her fourth straight start to begin the season, logging a career-high 11 saves.
Siena's non-conference schedule will continue on Thursday, September 1 at 3 PM, when the Saints host Sacred Heart at Hickey Field to begin a four-match homestand.
