Siena Softball Releases 2024 Schedule

Twenty Scheduled Home Games Highlight 56-Game Slate

LOUDONVILLE, NY – Following back-to-back 30-win seasons and top-three MAAC finishes, the foundation of success has been laid for Siena Softball entering the 2024 season. The Saints announced a 56-game slate for 2024, including 20 scheduled home games at Siena Softball Field.

"We are looking forward to playing a very challenging schedule in 2024," head coach Casey Bump said. "As always, we spend three weekends down south against tough competition to prepare us for conference play. Our league is very deep and we think our early season and non-conference schedule will set us up to compete for a MAAC championship."

Under the direction of Bump in her fourth season at the helm of the program, the Green and Gold will take on three first-time opponents and three that participated in the 2023 NCAA Softball Tournament.

The team's 49th varsity campaign will kick off at the CSU Kickoff in Charleston, South Carolina where they will face first-time foe Bellarmine and St. Francis (PA) on February 9, Bellarmine and host Charleston Southern on February 10, and Saint Francis (PA) again on February 11.

Siena will then head south for the first of two weekends of action at The Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Florida, where it will kickoff action with a doubleheader against in-state foe Le Moyne on February 22, with the teams facing off for the first time since 1991. Bellarmine and Brown will be opponents on February 23, while a matchup with St. Bonaventure for the first time since 2001 and Cornell is in store for February 24. The Saints will conclude the weekend against defending Conference USA champions Middle Tennessee on February 25.

The team's second weekend at The Spring Games will commence against first-time opponent Stonehill and Sacred Heart on March 8, and will continue against defending NEC champions LIU and Bucknell on March 9 before wrapping with a matchup against Columbia on March 10.

The Saints' return to the Northeast will take place on Tuesday, March 19 with a doubleheader at Stonehill, while a non-conference matchup at Sacred Heart will take place on March 21. The following week will feature a doubleheader action at Delaware State on March 26 and at Army West Point on March 27.

Siena's 2024 MAAC campaign – with teams now competing in three-game conference sets – will begin March 29-30 at Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

The Saints will kick off a scheduled 20-game home slate on Thursday, April 4 against crosstown rival UAlbany at Siena Softball Field. An eight-game homestand will continue with weekend conference action against Fairfield at home April 6-7, while defending MAAC champions Marist will visit Loudonville for three games April 9-10 and Central Connecticut State will head to the Capital Region on April 11.

MAAC action will continue with a three-game weekend series at Rider April 13-14 before Siena returns home for non-league doubleheaders against Holy Cross on April 16 and against UMass Lowell on April 17. Siena is back on the road for weekend conference action April 20 and 21 at Canisius.

The team's final eight-game homestand will kick off against MAAC foe Niagara April 23-24 at Siena Softball Field, and will continue with a non-conference midweek doubleheader against Le Moyne on April 25. Siena's final home weekend will take place against Saint Peter's April 27-28 before the team concludes regular season action at Manhattan May 4-5.

The 2024 MAAC Championship will take place May 8-11 at the home field of the top-seeded team, and will feature the top six regular season finishers in MAAC play. Siena has qualified for postseason play in each of the last six completed seasons and is two years removed from the program's first MAAC Championship Game appearance in 2022.
