BOSTON, MA – Siena Indoor Track sophomore Claire Gardner re-claimed her spot atop the program's 1,000-meter run leaderboard on Friday to begin weekend action at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at the BU Track & Tennis Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
The Chestnut Ridge, NY native ran a time of 2:53.70 to move ahead of classmate Keira Flaherty's previous top mark of 2:55.22 run in Boston last month. Junior Jennifer McClintock registered the third-fastest time in program history in the event at 3:00.29, while junior Isabella Painter ran the sixth-fastest time (3:03.28) and freshman Izzy McNamee went for ninth (3:08.36).
Flaherty set a new program indoor mark in the 800 to go for the fifth-fastest time overall at 2:17.08. Freshman Mattingly O'Rourke ran the fastest 800 time ever by a freshman and the third-fastest in indoor history at 2:19.25.
The Saints also saw the record book shaken up in the mile, with fifth year Olivia Lomascolo (4:49.17) and senior Delia McDade Clay (4:56.13) running the second and third-fastest marks in program history, respectively.
Siena's men's runners will take the track in Boston on Saturday, February 11 to continue weekend action.
