PROVIDENCE, RI – Siena Water Polo wrapped action at the Bruno Classic in Providence, Rhode Island by facing off with a pair of West Coast foes on Saturday. The Saints (1-3) dropped a 17-5 decision to Pomona-Pitzer before falling in a tight 13-9 match to Santa Clara.

Pomona-Pitzer 17, Siena 5

The Sagehens netted the first eight goals of the day and never looked back, with the Saints getting on the board with goals from graduate student Bianca Prinsloo and freshman Finn Magill in the first half. Prinsloo finished with a pair, while sophomore Cece White and junior Sydney Arnold also got on the board.

Santa Clara 12, Siena 9

The Green and Gold bounced back in the first quarter to battle the Broncos to an 8-7 Santa Clara lead after a quarter. Following a scoreless second period, Santa Clara netted four of the final six goals in the second half to secure victory. Freshman Samantha Varrie recorded her first collegiate hat trick, while Prinsloo added two more goals and White, senior Lily Graham, freshman Bianca Kennerley, and freshman Audrey Lacey also got on the board.

Siena's non-conference slate will continue February 25-26 at the Princeton Invitational, where the Saints will face Bucknell, Chapman, and the host Tigers.
