Box Score 2 SAN DIEGO, CA – Siena Water Polo began its annual West Coast trip at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, California Friday evening. The Saints dropped a 20-4 decision to #22 San Diego State before calling in a tight 12-9 decision to Saint Francis (PA).

The Aztecs began the first quarter with five straight goals and held an 11-2 lead at the half. Siena's first of three nationally-ranked opponents on the weekend closed out the game with a 9-2 second half advantage. Sophomore Sydney Arnold, freshman Stella Chopskie, freshman Parker Thomas, and freshman Bianca Kennerley netted goals for the Saints.
Saint Francis (PA) 12, Siena 9
After trailing, 7-3, as the half in the nightcap, the Saints strung together a second half run to come within a goal in the fourth quarter. Siena netted two of the final three goals, but could not complete the comeback bid over the Red Flash. Senior Grace Boeve led the way with four goals, while Thomas recorded a hat trick.
Siena will wrap West Coast action on Saturday, March 11 against #15 UC San Diego at 2 PM and against #13 Princeton at 8 PM.
