BERLIN, MD – Siena Men's Golf took the course at the Rum Pointe Seaside Links in Berlin, Maryland to begin its third tournament of the spring campaign on Saturday. The Saints finished the day in sixth play out of the crowded 17-team field after carding a team round of +1, 289.
Freshman
Austin Giroux led the way on the par-72, 7,001-yard course with a solid round of -4, 68 to finish in a tie for fourth place individually. Senior
Matthew Ferrari shot +1, 73 to split for 31
st, while graduate student
Brody Yates and senior
Nolan Crowley each shot +2, 74 to split for 37
th. Sophomore
Dan Brooks rounded out the team's five-man competition squad with a round of +3, 75 to knot for 48
th.
Competing as an individual, junior
Alex Kelley carded a round of +9, 81 to tie for 89
th after day one.
The Saints will cap 36-hole weekend action in Maryland on Sunday, March 26 beginning with a shotgun start at 10 AM.
