Box Score 2 CAMBRIDGE, MA – Siena Water Polo kicked off its third weekend of non-conference action at the Harvard Invitational in Cambridge, Massachusetts on Saturday evening. The Saints battled a pair of nationally ranked foes, dropping a 16-6 decision to #20 Brown and a 15-9 loss to #24 CSUN.
#20 Brown 16, Siena 6
The Saints' second go-around with the Bears this season began with Brown netting the first six goals of the game and holding an 8-3 advantage at the half. Siena recorded two of the first three goals of the second half to cut its deficit to five and trail 9-5, but Brown put things away with six of the final seven goals scored.
Senior Grace Boeve and freshman Parker Thomas each netted a pair of goals, while seniors Sydney Jones and Lily Graham also got on the board. Â
#24 CSUN 15, Siena 9
CSU Northridge four the back of the net for five of the first six goals of the next game, while the Saints battled back to cut it to three twice, but trailed, 10-6, at the half. CSUN netted all six goals of the third quarter to pull ahead for good thereafter.
Graham went for a hat trick, while Boeve and freshman Finn Magill netted a pair of goals apiece and Thomas joined freshman Bianca Kennerley in getting on the board.
Siena's time at the Harvard invite will conclude on Sunday, March 4 against Carthage at 8 AM and against Gannon at 2:40 PM.
